Pilot was killed when plane crashed into a tractor-trailer in Davidson County, North Carolina, and shocking photos show fireball chaos

A PILOT has died after a plane crashed into a North Carolina highway Wednesday, with emergency crews arriving on the scene.
According to reports, a tractor-trailer was involved in the crash and as a result shut off the southbound lanes of I-85 in Davidson County.
The plane crashed onto the highway and was hit by a tractor-trailer. The pilot’s identity is unknown.
Authorities say the plane was engulfed in flames following the crash.
The incident happened around 5:10 p.m. near Davidson County Airport.
All southbound I-85 traffic is being stopped by officials. The lane is expected to remain closed until after 8pm.
The Federal Aviation Administration said a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron crashed into the trailer. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
According to the FAA, the NTSB will lead the investigation.
