PGL was criticized for allowing CSGO smoke bug at Antwerp Major after G2 clip went viral

Tournament organizers PGL have been criticized by the CS:GO community after they decided to allow smoking at the ongoing Antwerp Major, despite a groundbreaking bug in tactical projectiles.
CS:GO fans have braced themselves for the PGL Antwerp Major, which begins on May 9th (Challengers Stage) and ends on May 22nd when a winner takes home their share of the $500,000 prize pool.
We’ve seen some incredible matches, but as has become frustratingly common in the CS:GO esports space, we’ve seen some bugs and exploits that distract from the tournament spectacle.
The recent controversy relates to an egregious smoke bug that allows players to be completely immersed in smoke to peek out and blast enemies who are none the wiser. The glitch that occurred in a match between G2 and Imperial quickly went viral Twitter as fans tried to draw attention to the issue.

But quite surprising PGL confirms that they will not ban smoking and will continue to use the latest client version of CS:GO.
A statement read: “We are using the latest client version of CS:GO and will allow the smoke in the future.”
The reactions of the organizers with professional players were very critical Karrigan joking that he will “find all lineups on all maps”.
Similarly, FaZe Clan player Broky asked, “What do you smoke?”

However, players were quick to discuss the issue, and at the time of this article’s publication, the Counter-Strike Professional Players’ Association (CSPPA) announced that it had been cleared by the teams in attendance.
Her comment read: “All teams at the Major have agreed not to use the Smoke exploit.”
Regardless, many remained disappointed with PGL’s decision and questioned why a simple tweak was not authorized to remove the bug from the game at a root level.
With many storylines yet to be written, keep tuned to Dexerto for the latest news from Antwerp.
