THREE separate shootings broke out in Petersburg, Virginia on Friday night, police and local reports say.
Petersburg police are investigating after at least six people, including children and adults, were shot dead in the city.
Deputy Chief of Police Emanuel Chambliss said one person was shot dead at the first shooting location behind restaurants on Fort Mahone Street.
The second shooting took place on Holly Hill Drive about five to 10 minutes later, according to reports CBS affiliate Reporter Wayne Covil.
Chambliss confirmed that four people were shot at this location.
“It is believed that two of them are teenagers and one is an adult,” Covil said.
As a covil aired the chaotic scene of the second shooting on Facebook Live, the news of a third shooting in the city’s West End.
Officials said one person was reportedly shot in the head on Boydton Plank Road.
“It’s really tough. We were told we have both adults and children. I’m not old yet,” Chambliss said.
“It’s an active scene here. A lot of people here,” Covil said on the show. “What is happening and going on in Petersburg is difficult to describe.”
As the scenes are still active, local residents are being urged to avoid the locations of the shootings.
