Patriots-Bills Week 13 Predictions – CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) – This is a big event.

After winning six in a row and turning their season around, the Patriots will now have a chance to prove they belong at the top of the AFC East. The Buffalo Bills, on the other hand, will be eager to regain leadership of the division – and they’ll have their 70,000 closest friends cheering them on to make it happen.

On Monday night in Buffalo it will be freezing cold, very windy and possibly wet, the Patriots and Bills will beat that. Here’s how sports teams WBZ and CBS Boston see this game going.

Dan Roche, WBZ

This is a great test and learning experience for this group of Patriots – win or lose. They’ll find out exactly where they stand as Super Bowl contenders.

Going ahead is the key for Pats. Josh Allen will be using his arms and especially his legs in this match, so the Pats need to maintain their physically pounding game.

Bill Belichick will find a way to keep it tight, using all three phases of the game.

Levan Reid, WBZ

So this is the biggest game of the year for both teams. I expect the Buffalo atmosphere to be its calm and loving… Not. But this is a game you want to see, and for those who play, a game you want to be in.

Pats have an identity. They’re banging their mouths on offensive and defensive behavior, and they perform in the kick game. That will be the key that they can hold.

The patriots continued to win.

These teams are evenly matched to the point of absurdity. The Bills have the number 1 defense in terms of allowed yards, while the Patriots are 4th. In terms of points allowed per game, the Patriots are ranked first and the Bills are second.

The Bills have the better offensive ability, ranking second in points per game, with the Patriots ranked seventh.

It was that plus the home advantage that helped me lean towards Buffalo in a match that was almost impossible to get a point.

Bills 13, Patriots 10

Matthew Geagan, CBS Boston

Pressure is on Bills this week. Lose the Patriots and they’ll essentially be back where they’ve been for the past two decades, and the pressure will only increase the rest of the way.

For the Patriots, it’s clear that getting Josh Allen to make mistakes is key. Expect a lot of Christian Barmore in the midfield trying to knock him out of his game – and a lot of Matt Judon getting in his face. It was also a big test for Mac Jones in his first taste of Monday Night Football.

I think the Pats will lose a close match, but not the type of loss that will deprive them of their momentum.
