Patricia Arquette has furiously confronted Elon Musk after he revealed his plans to vote Republican.
Musk wrote on Twitter today (May 18) that he had switched allegiances from the Democrats as they had become a party of “division and hatred.”
He wrote: “In the past I voted Democrats because they were (mostly) the friendliness party. But they have become the party of division and hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now watch their dirty trick campaign against me unfold.”
Responding to the statement, actor Arquette said: “You say this with a straight face while Republicans roll back basic civil rights for LGBT people and women, including raped and incestated girls who are forced to carry their violent attacker’s child to term? Do you want your daughter to inherit this?”
Elon Musk compared US President Joe Biden to it anchorman‘s Ron Burgundy – who loses his job as a news anchor in the 2004 film because he lacks the ability to improvise – during Monday’s all-in-tech conference in Miami.
“The real president is the one who controls the teleprompter. The road to power is the road to the teleprompter,” Mr Musk told the conference via Zoom.
“I have a feeling if someone accidentally leans on the teleprompter, so be it anchorman.”
At the same conference, Musk stated that although he voted “overwhelmingly” for Democrats in past elections, he will not be for “this election” and that Republicans would have his vote.
“I’ve voted overwhelmingly for Democrats in the past,” Musk said. “I’m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear. Now this choice I will”.
