Pasadena shooting: 2 teenagers dead, another injured in triple shooting at Pasadena apartment complex

Pasadena police responded to an exchange of fire at the Red Pines Apartments on Red Bluff Road near Beltway 8 around 10 p.m.

When officers arrived, they said they found a teenage victim with multiple gunshot wounds in a car. They found a second young victim collapsed in a building south of where the shots were heard.

These two were taken to Memorial Herman Hospital on Life Flight. According to the police, a 17-year-old later died in hospital.

A 15-year-old victim remains hospitalized. His condition is unknown, but police said they do not believe his injuries are life-threatening.

A third victim, a 16-year-old, was found dead north of the scene, police said. The investigators assume that the 16-year-old lived in the residential complex.

“We have some witnesses, two people running. But at this time it is not known if they were suspects or otherwise fled because they were afraid to hear the shots,” said Sgt. Raul Granados of the Pasadena Police Department.

After an initial investigation, the police assume that the young victims may have shot at each other. The two youths who died had guns with them, police said.

Granados said they found several bicycles at the scene. At this point, they don’t know what the motive for the shooting was or how the teenagers got their hands on the guns.

Two vehicles in the parking lot were hit by shots, police said.

Investigators are looking for surveillance video in the area.
