Pasadena sexual assault victim’s mother urges others to speak out and warns of wanted suspects

An arrest warrant has been issued for 24-year-old Luis Sanchez, who police say is wanted for criminally sexually assaulting a child.
The victim’s mother said the attack happened over a two-year period when her daughter was staying with relatives in a flat on Witter Street. The victim, now a teenager, never spoke about it until it was triggered during a visit a few years ago, according to her mother.
ABC13 does not identify the mother in order to protect the identity of a child sexual assault victim.
“When she (Sanchez) saw again, she opened up to us. She had so many problems at school and then she opened up to us and told us what happened when she was younger and it all came out,” the mother said. “He abused her most of the time when we weren’t around.”
The mother believes Sanchez may be hiding in the Pasadena area and that his family is protecting him. According to police, his last known whereabouts was on Shaver Street. The mother says Sanchez has young relatives and fears for them.
“I want to make sure he’s not out there to do this to someone else and change the life of another innocent child. If anyone sees him, speak up. Don’t be silent,” she said.
According to police, Sanchez is approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Bewley at 713-477-1221.
