Parasite’s Song Kang-ho joins Cobweb from Kim Jee-woon

The director and star collaborated for the fifth time.

There is no such thing as “too busy” when it comes to Oscar winning movies Parasitesleader Song Kang-ho. One of the most prominent names in Korean cinema has booked another project. Spiderweb will see Song collaborate again with his longtime partner, the director Kim Jee-woon, with whom the actor has worked four other times.

Spiderweb has been described by Kim as an “experimental” film set in a metal script – it will play out like a movie within a movie. Throughout his career, Kim has been known to try a number of disparate elements, such as the imaginative reunification of North and South Korea in his thriller. Wolf brigade and utter violence in his internationally acclaimed revenge thriller I see ghosts.

Song has been working with Kim since directing his first feature film, horror-comedy Quiet family. After that, the duo made it together King of Mistakes, The good, the bad and the weird, and The Age of Shadows. Kim was also in Hollywood: he directed Last place main character Johnny Knoxville and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Recently, he directed the Apple TV series + Dr. Brain, the first Korean-language series on the platform.

Recently, Parasites the star introduced in Han Jae-rim‘S Urgent declaration, a horror film based on real life in 2021 about a terrorist incident inside a flying plane. The film was shown in competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and is scheduled to hit theaters in 2022. The song will also be seen in 2022 in A victory, a sports drama about a volleyball coach assigned to coach a weak women’s team. Candlestick Spiderweb also has a 2022 release, we’ll see more Song Kang-ho on our screens next year. No complaints here.
