‘Ozark’ star Julia Garner plays Con Woman rocking New York (VIDEO)

Shondaland is embroiled in a new scandal, this time based on the true story of a white-collar con man who shocked New York society during Netflix‘S Invented Anna.

As the intro to the series teases, Invented Anna was inspired by the true story of a fake tycoon made by OzarkEmmy Award Winner Julia Garner. The film tells the story of Anna Delvey, who has attracted the interest of journalist Vivian (Anna Chlumsky) after the legendary German Instagram heir stole the hearts of New York social networks along with their money.

Vivian has a lot to prove in her work and believes Anna could be the key to her success if she can get the scammer to cooperate. The pair form a dark, humorous, love-hate bond as Anna awaits trial and Vivian fights the clock to answer a question everyone in New York City’s upper echelons wants to know: Anna: Who is Delvey?

Set to premiere on Friday, February 11 on streamer, Invented Anna was inspired by Jessica Pressler’s New York Magazine article “How an aspiring girl’ swindled New York party insiders – and its banks.” Along with Garner and Chlumsky, the series’ cast includes Arian Moayed, Katie Lowes, Alexis Floyd, Anders Holm, Anna Deavere Smith, Jeff Perry, Terry Kinney, and Laverne Cox.
