Oxford High School shooting survivor Ava Swiss wows the judges on ‘America’s Got Talent’.

An 18-year-old Michigan school shooting survivor blew away the judges of America’s Got Talent with a heartbreaking performance Tuesday when they auditioned for the show.

Ava Swiss, a senior at Oxford High School where a gunman killed four students and injured seven others last November, received a standing ovation from all four judges for her stunning performance of Lauren Daigle’s “Remember.”

Before belting out the song, Swiss shared how difficult it was being a mass shooting survivor.

“It was tough,” the teenager said. “I remember my brother and I talking to each other and saying there was no way we were ever going to set foot in school again. But we’ve been at the school personally for about two months now, so it’s getting better.”

Swiss said music helped her cope with the terrible tragedy and she chose to sing “Remember” because it reminds her to find the good in difficult times.

“When I sing it, I remember the good. I remember my community, my family — just love and I remember everything is there for me and will help me get where I need to be,” she told the judges. “That’s why I’m so grateful to be here today and to share it with more people than I ever thought possible.”

Swiss burst into tears as she finished the moving performance and received huge applause from the audience and the jury.

She received “wows” and praise from all four judges.

“It took my breath away,” said Sofía Vergara. “You didn’t just sing, you showed us your feelings and I got goosebumps.”

Simon Cowell called the Swiss “brave” and said he would never forget her performance in his many years judging contestant shows.

“For me, this is one of those auditions that I’ll never forget,” he told the young singer.

Howie Mandel applauded Swiss’ courage to go on stage after so much trauma.

“In life, it’s hard to emerge, especially after going through incredible trauma,” Mandel said. “The fact that you can break through that and shine like you did today is so inspiring to every human being.”
