Outer Banks plane crash, Hunter Parks family passenger makes nasty statement after tragedy off North Carolina coast

Hunter Parks’ family confirmed that he was one of the passengers on the flight that crashed off the coast of North Carolina on Sunday.

Parks and his girlfriend, Stephanie Fulcher, are believed to have returned from a duck hunting trip when the plane they were on crashed, Tom Harrison said to his friends.

“We can confirm that Hunter Parks was among the passengers of a flight that plunged into the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday afternoon,” read a statement from the Parks family.

“We are grateful to the many men and women – authorities and volunteers – who remain active in the recovery and investigation.

“We sincerely appreciate the love, prayers and care shown through this incident. We have no further comment at this time and ask that the privacy of all parties involved be respected. Thank you.”

WITN reported Parks and his girlfriend are believed to be among the missing.

“He is one of the most generous people I know and he has a hunting property and has invited a large number of young veterans,” said Harrison.

“There was a special duck season, a day long duck season for the youth and veterans and he invited them all to his facility for duck hunting.

“And they went hunting there on Saturday and were still in Hyde County at lunchtime yesterday and flew home yesterday when the crash happened,”

Harrison also said that four boys from the Carteret County area were also on the flight.

Stephanie Fulcher shared the photos on Facebook earlier on Monday, including from inside the plane.

The images show the boys in camouflage inside the plane and also posing with a dead chicken during their outing.

One person was found dead in the recovery effort, leaving seven passengers still missing, including four children.

During a press conference Monday afternoon, Carteret County Sheriff Asa Buck along with the US Coast Guard shared details of the investigation.

According to Buck, one body has been recovered but the search for the other seven is still ongoing. “We have no indication of any survivors from the crash.”

‘PROFIT’ PLAN

According to officials, followers of the North Carolina Coast Guard Sector Command Center received reports of a possible downed plane from an air traffic controller at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point around 2pm on Sunday.

The report noted that the aircraft “behaves erratically” on radar before disappearing from radar screens.

Officials confirmed Monday that there were eight people on board at the time.

Their identities are yet to be confirmed.

Shortly after 11 a.m., officials said the debris field where the plane is believed to have crashed had been found. Efforts have been directed to that area in search of survivors.

Four of the passengers are believed to be students at East Carteret High School.

Carteret County Public Schools issued a statement to the agency, saying: “We are deeply saddened to join the Down East and East North Carolina communities as we await official information regarding the plane crash off Drum Inlet.”

Coast Guard officials said they have two fleets of boats searching and crew from the City of Elizabeth.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the missing plane was a single-engine Pilatus PC-12/47.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
