Amanda Owen of OUR Yorkshire Farm has revealed all about her “low score” at Ravenseat Farm after Hurricane Arwen hit.
During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine earlier this week, mother of nine children47 years old, shared how the killer’s weather conditions affected her home.
The storm – which has left three people dead – caused chaos last week as icy streams swept across the UK, with freezing temperatures and gusts of up to nearly 100 mph.
The Shepherd and her family couldn’t escape the impact of Hurricane Arwen.
Amanda told host Lorraine Kelly: “Last week the storm played a huge role.
“What happens to weather like us, we don’t have electricity, we don’t have water. We’re okay because we’re all here.
“But it has high points and low points – I think the low point is when the tea is really scrambled eggs and Champagne.
“Dark in the dark, the temperature is close to zero.”
Amanda became famous five years ago, a Channel 5 observational documentary called Our Yorkshire Farm.
The popular show follows the life of writer, her husband Clive, and their nine children on Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales.
The two – who were married in 2000 – are the mother and father of Raven, 20, Reuben, 18, Miles, 15, Edith, 13, Violet, 11, Sidney, nine, Anna, seven, Clemmy, six and five- Nancy age.
Although they’ve dedicated their lives to the farm, Amanda recently admitted that she thinks they should “see the wider world” before making decisions for the family.
The star spoke to Mariella Frostrup on Times Radio and express her concern about her children and how they should approach the lives ahead of them.
“I think they should all go out and go and see the bigger world,” she confessed.
“After that, I think quite a few of them will come back,” adds Amanda, as she likens her children to a “boomerang.”
Her oldest Raven is in college, and Reuben has dreams of starting her own contract company.
