The move is being made to draw a larger audience to ABC broadcaster, which has reported declining viewership in recent years.
However, who the three presenters will be has yet to be announced. The leader to take on the task of archiving including Jimmy Kimmel, Tiffany Haddish, Pete Davidson and Tom Holland.
The Oscars remain unclaimed since 2019 when the comedian Kevin Hart resigned after the backlash he faced due to a series of old homophobic tweets resurfaced.
Kimmel was the last celebrity to host the Oscars, topping the ceremony in 2018.
According to the announcement, the 2019 Hostless Awards Ceremony attracted more viewers than Kimmel’s broadcast last year, bringing in a viewership of 29.56 million.
That number dropped in 2020 to 23.64 million people before plummeting last year to 10.4 million.
The nominations for this year’s Oscars were announced earlier this week (February 8). Netflix’s The power of the dog leads the table with 12 nominations, while Denis Villeneuve .’s Sand dunes followed closely behind with 10 nods.
Meanwhile, West story and Belfast selected seven nominations each.
