In early March, Toei Animation announced that its internal systems had been hacked crispy roll. The compromised system forced the studio to shut down and pause all currently airing shows. Anime News Network reported that the hack was caused by a ransomware attack. Thankfully, the animation studio seems to be in a more stable place now.
Shows affected include One Piece, Digimon Ghost Game, Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai, and Yummy Party Pretty Cure. Also the movie Dragon Ball Super: Superhero was indefinitely postponed from its scheduled April 22 release in Japan due to the hack affecting production. Now that things are getting back to normal, expect news on that too. In the meantime, it’s time to enjoy more One piece.
