ONE person in Georgia died and three others were injured Tuesday when a tornado swept through the state.
The deadly storms have struck Georgia and South Carolina, leaving destruction in their path.
The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado had made landfall in Allendale, South Carolina, and another possible tornado in Screven County, Georgia.
Georgia’s governor tweeted that he would be kept updated on the storms.
“We will continue to do what we can to support everyone affected by today’s severe weather and the responders responding to the needs and damage on the ground,”
The Allendale Red Cross has opened an emergency shelter at Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School.
