Oklahoma City police officer fires point blank during sweep

A suspect shot an Oklahoma City police officer at point-blank range as he attempted to pat him down, intense video shows.
Footage released Wednesday shows the moment Crasteven Kennon Wilson, 23, shot Officer Bryce Sheehan in the leg March 2 while attempting to search the suspect in southeast Oklahoma City for weapons.
“Do you have guns?” Sheehan Wilson asked while answering a call about a suspicious person. “Can I tap you real quick? Make sure you don’t have guns? Here – don’t reach for nothing.”
Wilson muttered, “Yes,” but instead quickly turned and shot Sheehan, hitting the officer in the right leg before running to his squad car and attempting to drive off.
“Shots fired, shots fired!” Sheehan screamed. “I am hit!”

The officer immediately returned fire and hit Wilson, who was later found behind a nearby house by police officers using a drone. Sheehan, meanwhile, was applying a makeshift tourniquet to try and stop the bleeding in his leg as he frantically called for backup.
Wilson later died of his wounds in a hospital. His gun was recovered from the scene, police said.
The wounded officer, who was treated and discharged from a hospital, was placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation following the shooting with police involvement.
