Ohio State Soccer Gets QB Coverage With Devin Brown

The Ohio State team may be reeling from their first loss to TTUN in ten years, but there are things they can do to correct their mistakes. They can make some change staff. They can come next season more prepared. Perhaps the best they could do was keep recruiting their bad guys.

That seems to be what Ryan Day and his staff decided to do. Just a few days after canceling its commitment to USC, Ohio State was able to lock the 4-star quarterback Devin Brown. Brown is the fifth best quarterback in his class and the number one QB in Wyoming.

The Buckeyes have no quarterbacks in this class after Quinn Ewers decided to reclassify and join this year’s show. Now by adding Brown to the mix, they get some quadruple coverage in case Ewers decides go somewhere else to pursue more playtime.

Brown is 6’3 but only 189 pounds. He’ll need to fill in his frame a bit before stepping out onto the field playing against long-running college football programs. That’s nothing a bit of time in a college strength and conditioning program won’t fix though.

Regarding his skills, he has a really strong arm. He’s not the fastest in the world but will move if needed. Even so, he may need to work a bit. Either way, this guy has a lot of potential and should be a good fit for Jack Miller to leave.

Ideally, CJ Stroud would be the starter for an extra year before moving to the NFL. Then it will be Ewers’ turn to start in a few years. Then Brown can get a shot. There’s a lot that could still happen between now and next season, though.

Either way, accumulating talent is never a bad thing. That’s exactly what the Ohio State football program likes to do.
