Obi-Wan Kenobi confirms James Earl Jones to voice Darth Vader

James Earl Jones has reportedly been confirmed as the actor who will voice Darth Vader in the final days war of stars series Obi Wan Kenobi.

The third installment of Disney Plus’ latest spin-off, a prequel centered on Ewan McGregor’s character, was released on Wednesday (June 1) and featured a familiar voice.

Darth Vader appeared in the latest installment after learning that Obi-Wan (McGregor) is staying on a mining planet. The two then get into a fight.

Corresponding TVLineJones – who is now 91 – returned as the powerful voice behind the infamous black mask he began the original trilogy – Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983).

He later reprized his role in the franchise’s follow-up film Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, in addition to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and the animated show rebels.

It was not previously announced that Jones would portray the story antagonist for this miniseries.

The latest installment also wowed fans when it named Obi-Wan’s Jedi ally Quinlan Vos, leading many to believe they might see a live-action reunion of the characters before the series ends.

While this was just a brief mention of the character on the show, Star Wars fans will know that the couple has a long and colorful history together, in which Quinlan plays a key role The clone wars. Obi-Wan previously mentioned Quinlan in Episode III – Revenge of the Sithreferring to him as Master Vos.
