NYPD on the hunt for a suspect who tried to steal a French bulldog from its owner

A woman walking her French bulldog almost had her little dog stolen in broad daylight by a man who followed her into an office building in the Financial District last month, new footage obtained by the NYPD shows.

Video of the June 21 incident, released by police on Thursday, shows the man trying to grab the dog after he wedged himself in the same revolving door as the woman at the entrance of 61 Broadway in downtown Manhattan, said the police.

A fight ensued, with the victim holding the Frenchie as the suspect attempted to pull the helpless pup away, video shows.

The woman suffered a head injury after being thrown against the revolving glass door, police said. She was then transported to a hospital.

The dog was not injured and the suspect was still wanted by police early Friday, authorities said.
