NYC woman recalls horror attack by accused sex fiend who got ‘sweet’ plea deal

A Bronx woman who was nearly raped by an accused sex fiend who had a love confession deal with Manhattan DAs says she is still being terrorized a week after the ordeal — while she says the ” System” that allowed their alleged attacker to be free.

The 49-year-old victim, who spoke to The Post on condition of anonymity, said she couldn’t bear to be alone in her flat since the creep broke in last week and tried to sexually assault her.

“I can’t sleep,” she said Thursday during an emotional interview, sometimes crying as she recalled the nightmarish incident. “When I hear something, I get up and look around. I’m getting nervous. I am getting scared.”

The mother-of-two was home alone in the Bronx on September 15 when prosecutors allege Justin Washington, 25, got in through a window and tried to rape her.

“He was acting crazy, like a person who is mentally unstable,” the victim recalled. “He grabbed my shoulders and pushed me onto the bed.”

She was the second of five people Washington reportedly terrorized that day — in a sex crimes rampage that came just a week before his conviction in a Manhattan rape case.

Washington – who was released on bail weeks after allegations of raping a teenage relative in late February – had struck a deal in which prosecutors would recommend he get just 30 days behind bars plus five years probation in exchange for him plead guilty to a fine.

“If he hadn’t gotten out of jail in that time, none of this would have happened,” the mother, who he later allegedly assaulted, told The Post. “Look what he did! They should change the system. That is not right.”

The woman said she was doing chores on the day of the incident when she noticed her parrot Coco was “going mad” and heard footsteps – prompting her to step out of her bedroom and into the hallway.

The woman noticed Washington’s shadow in her room and began attacking her.

“Then I saw a shadow,” she said, describing the terrifying moment she realized she wasn’t alone. “I twisted my body to peer into the room [and] I saw the man.”

The two stared at each other and said, “I felt chills from head to toe,” she told the Post.

“I yelled at him, ‘What are you doing here? You shouldn’t be here,’” the woman recalled. “He came towards me.”

Washington allegedly chased her into her bedroom and then took off his pants and started masturbating, she said.

She grabbed her phone to call the police, but he allegedly knocked it out of her hand and told her to get on the bed.

The woman tried hard to fend him off – she even grabbed a hammer from the windowsill – but the sicko still overwhelmed her.

She tearfully recounted how he forced her legs and sniffed her while his pants were down.

Then he suddenly withdrew — and started asking for a dollar or two, the victim said. She took the opportunity to quickly grab the hammer lying on the ground.

“I went down and grabbed the hammer. I was angry,” the woman said. “I yelled, ‘Get out, get out.’ I broke the glass in the window so he could see I wasn’t playing, I meant business. He didn’t take me seriously.”

Washington reportedly came at her again – so she hit him in the head with the hammer, causing him to bleed, she said.

“He touched himself and saw the blood,” she said, adding that the injury was enough to deter the creep.

“He went out the same way he came in,” she said. “I followed him with the hammer.”

Immediately after the attack, the woman said she ran outside and started knocking on neighbors’ doors.

She felt sick.

“I was shocked. I wanted to throw up,” she recalled. “I cried.”

Her 17-year-old daughter said she was “very, very proud” of her mother for fighting off the pervert.

“She’s a very strong person,” the teen told the Post. “I know she will do everything in her power to defend herself.”

The Bronx mom was able to scare the pervert off, but she’s left with the horrific memory of that spooky day.

Washington is said to have approached another resident of the building half an hour before he broke into the 49-year-old’s apartment.

In that incident, he sneaked up the fire escape and banged on the home window of a 26-year-old woman who, according to prosecutors and sources, was home with her 9-month-old son at the time.

When the woman opened her curtains, she saw Washington masturbating on her fire escape, the prosecutor claimed.

He is also accused of molesting an 18-year-old man through whose window he crawled, stealing a woman’s underwear and molesting a homeless woman who was sleeping in a building lobby – all within hours of his alleged attacks on the at the neighbours.

The disturbing rampage came about a month after Washington received the plea deal from Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg in the rape case.

Washington reportedly approached another resident of the building the same day.

Washington was initially charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, and violent touch in the count. He was jailed on February 23 on $25,000 bail or $50,000 bail — although prosecutors asked a judge to set bail at $100,000.

About three weeks later, prosecutors reduced Washington’s charge to third-degree rape after finding they had insufficient evidence – and he was released from prison when a judge agreed to lower his bail to $12,000.

He was sent back to Rikers Island last week after a Bronx judge set his bail at $50,000 cash bail or $150,000 bail on charges including attempted rape, burglary, assault and sexual assault for the alleged March 15 shooting September.

Washington was due to be convicted in the Manhattan case on Wednesday, but prosecutors asked for a stay – citing the Bronx allegations – and the hearing was adjourned until September 28.

Prosecutors said they believed Washington broke the terms of its plea deal. Manhattan prosecutors are now reconsidering the proposed sentence as part of the deal.

A spokesman for Bragg said the deal was offered to spare the young victim testimony “while holding Washington accountable for his conduct.”

“As the investigation into this week’s extremely disturbing allegations in the Bronx continues, we will decide whether to seek a longer sentence,” the spokesman said in a statement. NYC woman recalls horror attack by accused sex fiend who got ‘sweet’ plea deal
