NYC teens saved from stabbing outside school when knife snaps: cops

A 16-year-old boy was rescued from an unprovoked stabbing in broad daylight outside a Queens school building this week – when his baby-faced attacker’s knife somehow broke, cops said.

But as soon as the knife touched the victim’s shirt, it snapped – and the teenager was unharmed, police officers said. It is unclear why the knife broke.

He refused medical attention, authorities said.

The suspected attacker then fled, police said.

The video shows the suspect – who appears to be a teenager himself – in a black T-shirt and green patterned shorts.

Police also released a photo of the knife with the blade severed from the handle.

The three schools housed in the building that were releasing students at the time are Q167 Metropolitan Expeditionary Learning School, Q686 Queens Metropolitan High School and PS Q233.

It’s unclear if the victim or suspect has any connection to the schools, police officers said.
