NYC priest slams church member as ‘disgusting’: lawsuit

A Queens minister had an unholy reaction to a member of his flock, accusing her of trying to seduce him and calling her “disgusting” and “stupid,” according to a lawsuit.

Juanita Faulkner claims her time at the Episcopal Church of Grace and Resurrection turned into hell on earth in 2018 when Rev. Gilberto Hinds began addressing her.

“You’re the most disgusting person I’ve ever met,” Hinds reportedly told Faulkner in front of others.

At another point, the interim priest at Elmhurst Church reportedly told her, “I’ve developed a dislike for you,” and “Anytime you and I are in the same room, I have a desperate need to go to the other end,” said she claims in a lawsuit in the Queens Supreme Court against Hinds and the Long Island Episcopal Diocese, which oversees the church.

He accused her of staring at him during the service, of looking “so stupid” during communion and told her: “Don’t touch me, don’t smile at me and I don’t want to be hugged by your big arms,” ​​she said in the allegations litigation.

Hinds also said Faulkner exposed himself to him in his office and turned down six requests that the choir member sing at family funerals, she said.

He expelled her from the church in February 2020, said Faulkner, who is seeking $2 million in damages for the “embarrassment,” emotional distress, and “financial losses.”
