NYC man arrested for slashing cop in apartment: NYPD

A distraught man slashed the wrist of a police officer who responded at his Harlem, NYCHA, home this week, cops said.

Kevin Joseph, 32, “acted erratically[ally] and behaving violently,” police said when officers showed up at his apartment in the King Towers on West 115th Street around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for a call to an “emotionally disturbed person.”

Police tried to take Joseph into custody so emergency services could take him to the hospital, officers said.

But instead of complying, Joseph turned violent and pulled a kitchen knife – slashing the wrist of a 30-year-old police officer and piercing her thumb, police said.

The knife was found and Joseph was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police officers said.

The officer was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, authorities said. NYC man arrested for slashing cop in apartment: NYPD
