Nico Ali Walsh, Muhammad Ali’s grandson, wins again

LAS VEGAS — Shakur Stevenson headlined his main event win over Oscar Valdez on Saturday night, but Muhammad Ali’s grandson also put on a show.

On the main card, it took Nico Ali Walsh (5-0, 4 KOs) just 2 minutes and 50 seconds to knock out Alejandro Ibarra (7-2) in what should have been a four-round middleweight special.

After going toe-to-toe for most of the round and repeatedly landing his right hook on Ibarra’s head, Ali Walsh set up his superior opponent. After feinting with his right hand to open things up, Ali Walsh landed a quick left flush and a devastating right flush on Ibarra’s face for his fourth career knockout.

“This is just a testament to all the work I’ve put in,” said Ali Walsh. “It’s bigger than boxing. This is for my family.

“I’m bringing my grandpa back to life and that’s why mom gets so emotional because she sees her dad again and she tells me her dad’s name.” Nico Ali Walsh, Muhammad Ali’s grandson, wins again
