The Prime Minister told the British at a press conference last night to work from home and use passport vaccines for nightclubs and football stadiums to combat the spread of the Omicron variant.

Users can download their domestic or travel tickets through the NHS England app but many have reported experiencing technical problems accessing the social media app.

Those who tried to download the local pass were faced with a loading screen before it was redirected to a page with instructions on how to get the pass.

Others who wanted to download their travel cards received a message that read: “An unexpected error occurred.”

Some users said they received the message: “Please try again later. There is an issue with accessing the Covid Pass on the NHS website and app. We are investigating the issue and will provide an update.” as soon as possible.”

One person tweeted: “LOL – trying to download my covid card in the birth of plan b. And the NHS app is having technical problems. So what is plan c? Useless!”

Another said: “In the NHS app, the NHS Covid card is now showing ‘too many requests’. No wonder!”

Someone added: “I’m trying to download my covid card, but #nhscovidapp isn’t working…this can’t be good…”

It was hours after Boris Johnson announced Britain would switch to the REMOVAL plan following a spike in cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

The NHS Covid Pass, which can be obtained with two vaccines or a negative side-flow test, will be used to enter nightclubs and other large venues.

People will have to show proof they have been vaccinated or provide a negative side flow test from next Wednesday.

Cards can be downloaded from the NHS app and saved to a mobile phone, or saved as a PDF and printed. They last for 30 days.

A notice from NHS Digital said: “We are aware of an issue affecting access to the NHS Covid Pass on the NHS Website and App. We are investigating this as a priority and will update. as soon as possible.”

Another statement released later added: “We are continuing to investigate current issues with the NHS COVID Pass and will provide an update as soon as possible. We apologize for any issues. any problems this may have caused and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve it.”
