NHL brings back taxi team in an attempt to keep the season going

The NHL will come in after the extended holiday season with taxi fleets and other roster modifications in anticipation of more disruption to the season. Each team will be allowed to have a taxi fleet of up to six players and emergency recalls of minors if the absence of COVID-19 leaves anyone playing without a full squad. The taxi fleet will be in effect at least until the All-Star break in early February. Meanwhile, a number of players and coaches joined the COVID-19 protocol on Sunday as teams returned to their facilities. All 14 games scheduled for Monday have been postponed, with the season expected to resume on Tuesday.
