Scheduled to launch on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. PST, the first Baby Shark NFT collection is a collaboration between Pinkfong’s parent company SmartStudy and Pinkfong’s global music partner. Music by Sony Entertainment/Relentless Record.

The six-piece collection, now available to preview on MakersPlace, consisting of a single (1/1) piece and five limited edition pieces featuring Baby Shark and its family in original, repeatable animations inspired by collectors’ playing cards three-dimensional photo album. Each section is accompanied by an audio reference to the song “Baby Shark”.blank

The unique piece, titled “Baby Shark #1,” is a one-minute digital NFT that shows Baby Shark’s journey “through a newly reimagined dreamlike underwater world, seen through a lens depicts Baby Shark in a captivating new light,” according to a press release. Music played through the image has been described as “a classically composed, bespoke electronic movement built around” the original song. The winner of the piece will receive a custom vinyl, created by Pinkfong to accompany the NFT, featuring music from the digital work along with accompanying artwork.

In August, Sony Music participated in a $30 million Series A funding round for MakersPlace along with Eminem, former CEO of Def Jam Paul Rosenberg and DJ 3LAU. The following month, Sony Music announced a strategic partnership with MakersPlace that saw artist Sony Shakira offer for sale NFT audiovisual on the platform.

Since its debut on YouTube in June 2016, “Baby Shark” has received a Diamond certification from the RIAA based on sales of over 11 million copies; The song also peaked at number 32 on Billboard’s .
