NFL player slams EA for ruining Madden 2022 with Ultimate Team

Las Vegas Raiders running back Kenyan Drake has lashed out at the Madden franchise, claiming EA has ruined the soccer sim’s “integrity”.

Madden NFL by EA SPORTS has been the only officially licensed NFL game on the market for over 15 years.

While the games sell millions of copies each year, longtime fans are left frustrated with how EA has handled the franchise.

Now, a real NFL player at EA has spoken out about how they’ve handled the game, particularly the franchise mode.

NFL player skewers EA for Madden’s ‘neglect’

On April 7th, Raiders halfback Kenyan Drake fired at EA for her handling of Madden since implementing Ultimate Team.

The veteran pro, who has played for the Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, and Las Vegas Raiders, blamed the company’s focus on monetizing Ultimate Team for not improving things like Franchise mode.

“The Madden franchise mode is so neglected, I miss the old days before MUT,” he wrote on Twitter. “The game had better integrity then, now it’s all about the money.”

Drake isn’t the only NFL player to have been annoyed by EA’s handling of Madden, either. Green Bay Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert offered to help EA fix Madden 22’s defense plans, telling them, “This isn’t rocket science.”

Despite his offer, EA never got him to help with the gameplay of the sim. Hopefully EA can make improvements for the upcoming Madden 23 for all fans of the soccer franchise.
