News from Queen Elizabeth – Prince William’s daring new plan to ‘modernize the royal family’ after the bloody end of the Caribbean tour

William has told the Commonwealth ‘it can decide its future’

PRINCE William told the Commonwealth on Friday it could decide on his future after his Caribbean tour was marred by anti-royal protests.

In his statement, William said: “Travel abroad is an opportunity for reflection. you learn so much

“What is on the Prime Minister’s mind? The hopes and ambitions of school children. The daily challenges faced by families and communities.

“I know this tour has brought even more focus to questions of the past and future.

“In Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas, people have to decide about that future.

“But we really enjoyed spending time with communities in all three countries and learning more about the issues that matter most to them.

“Catherine and I are committed to service. For us, that doesn’t mean telling people what to do.

“It’s about serving them and supporting them in any way they see fit, using the platform that we’re fortunate to have.

“For that reason, tours like this reinforce our desire to serve the people of the Commonwealth and listen to communities around the world.

“Who the Commonwealth chooses to lead their family in the future is not what I have in mind.

“What matters to us is the potential of the Commonwealth family to create a better future for the people who make it up, and our commitment to serve and support as best we can.”
