New York thieves were caught on video taking away bulletproof vests bound for Ukraine

Two vans — one white and one black — pull up in front of the East Village building, which houses the Ukraine Congress Committee of America and the Ukraine Women’s National League of America, according to video taken Tuesday and provided to the Post became.
Men in masks and hoodies exit a white van around 10 p.m. and walk with the boxes from the building at 203 Second Ave. back and forth to the vehicle, as the video showed. A box was so big it took two people to carry it.
Passers-by were seen walking down the block without giving the thieves a second look.
About an hour later, another van stopped to take away more boxes.
The vests had been stored in a building corridor. The non-profit organizations raise funds for the war effort in Ukraine.






The theft was discovered Wednesday morning and about 400 vests were stolen, according to the NYPD.
The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office had donated used vests to help the Ukrainian groups, but it was not clear if these were the vests that had been taken.
