New York man dead after jumping out of Upper East Side apartment building

A 55-year-old man has died after apparently jumping from his Upper East Side apartment building on Saturday, police officers said.

The man was found just before 1:15 p.m. in the back yard of the 10-story building at 330 East 79th St., police said.

He had injuries that indicated he had landed on the ground after falling from a height, police said.

Police believe the man jumped from the roof of the 10-story building.

The unidentified man was taken to Cornell Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A few blocks away, a 61-year-old man died early Saturday morning after falling from the sixth floor of a skyscraper while washing windows.
