New Jersey driver kills horse and injures 14-year-old rider

According to a report, a hit-and-run driver in New Jersey struck a horse, killing the animal and injuring its 14-year-old teenage rider.

The crash happened in Gloucester County Tuesday night, reported.

The teenager, a Sicklerville resident, was riding on the shoulder of Monroeville Road in Franklin Township just before 8 p.m. with a 21-year-old Camden man riding a second horse, local police said.

The driver collided with the girl and her horse and fled the scene.

Police are looking for an older, light-colored pickup truck in connection with the callous accident, police said.

The injured teenager was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden with non-life-threatening injuries, where she was listed in stable condition, police said.
