New evidence and defense details emerge in the Orsolya Gaal murder case

On Friday, new details emerged in the heinous murder of the Queen’s mother, Orsolya Gaal – from how police officers have cleverly gathered some vital evidence to the steps the suspect’s lawyer is taking to help the case to fight.

On Tuesday, three days after police said David Bonola, 44, butchered Gaal at her Forest Hills home, NYPD detectives fished a pair of bloodied brown boots from a plumbing truck after it drove away from the suspect’s home, sources said Law enforcement officials and witnesses Friday.

“It was in the afternoon. … The cops came and stopped the truck,” said Harry Maraj, a construction worker who caught the moment as he sat on the Tropical Jade Roti Express on Liberty Avenue.

“They took some bags from the truck and opened them,” he said.

“They took a white bag from the truck and a pair of brown boots. The boots were not in any pocket. They put everything in big brown paper bags and left.”

Law enforcement sources say they already had Bonola on their radar after learning he worked at Gaal’s home and had an intimate relationship with her. They monitored his home and waited for his trash to be picked up so they could search him for clues, sources said. It’s unclear why detectives waited for the truck to leave the house to grab the shoes.

The bloodied boots Bonola was allegedly wearing when he stabbed Gaal nearly 60 times have been tested for DNA and are a crucial element in the case investigators are building against him, sources said.

Meanwhile, the Queens Defenders, a non-profit organization representing Bonola for free, have hired a private investigator who was seen knocking on doors near Gaal’s home on Friday afternoon.

The private investigator, who was signed by public defenders as part of a J&L investigation, declined to comment when approached by the Post, but was overheard asking neighbors if they knew how things were going with Gaals family could contact.

At one point, a bartender from the Forest Hills Station House, where Gaal had been having a drink alone shortly before her murder, stopped by the family home to check it out.

The PI spoke briefly to the bartender.

Bonola, a Mexican national and citizen who had been residing in the country illegally, was taken into custody late Wednesday and charged with murder, criminal manipulation and criminal possession of weapons.
