Nevada’s Troy Driver arrested in connection with Naomi Irion’s disappearance

Nevada police on Friday arrested 41-year-old Troy Driver in connection with the disappearance of 18-year-old Naomi Irion.

The driver is being held on kidnapping charges after he allegedly approached Irion’s car in a Fernley Walmart lot around 5 a.m. March 12, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Surveillance footage shows Driver lurking near Irion’s 1992 Mercury Sable before boarding and driving off. Officials found Irion’s car unattended in a commercial area near Walmart on March 15.

Police said the driver’s truck was impounded and taken as evidence.

Irion’s whereabouts remain unknown at the time the driver was arrested. Phone records show she was active on social media and received a Snapchat message minutes before she disappeared.

Irion’s mother told WAGM 8 that she’s waiting for a shuttle to her job at Panasonic, which usually arrives between 5:30 and 5:40 a.m

“This is still a very active investigation,” Lyon County Sheriff Frank Hunewill said on March 25. “More information will be released as it becomes available. Naomi has still not been located and we are continuing to search for her and information.
