Netflix must-know tricks include a SECRET page to unlock missing movies

NETFLIX is a must-have streaming platform, but little do most people know that there are ways to make it even better.

The site may have 222 million users worldwide, but with a growing list of competitors including Disney+, Amazon Prime and NOW, Netflix needs to continue to innovate to keep users happy.

That doesn’t just mean creating tons of great new programs, but developing useful features.

Some of these features have been removed, although they may enhance your viewing experience.

While others require some external skills. We reveal all…

Remove ‘you’re still watching’

‘Are you still watching?’ the screen is a bit marmite – you either love it or hate it.

For those who need a reminder, it pops up when you’ve been on Netflix for a while, and assuming you’ve probably nodded.

So instead of letting episodes of a show keep playing for no one to see, it asks if you’re still there.

If you’re a serial Netflix follower and notifications annoy you, there’s a way to stop it – albeit a little tricky.

It only works if you are viewing from a computer and specifically using Google Chrome.

Netflix never ends is a free extension that will automatically play the next episode instead of asking that annoying question.

Find hidden movies

There is so much to watch on Netflix that it can be like looking for a needle in a haystack to find that perfect movie.

Thankfully, there are a few things that can help, with secret category codes.

Netflix’s way of displaying categories isn’t liked by everyone, so if you want things done the old-fashioned way, the category code is the way to go.

For example, if you love a food show, enter the number 72436.

For musicals and music-related programs, enter 13335.

There’s an exhaustive list to try here.

Protect your Netflix profile

It is not uncommon for households to share a Netflix account among several family members.

If you don’t want people to track what you watch, you can lock your account.

All you need to do is sign in and from the drop-down menu at the top left select Account.

From here, select the drop-down arrow next to the account you want to lock.

Under ‘Lock Profile’, click Change.

Then you can set a password.

Watch Netflix with others using Teleparty

Especially common during pandemics, Phone allows you to simultaneously view something with other people elsewhere.

There is a chat box if someone wants to comment on anything in the movie.

And if someone pauses or plays, that applies to everyone, so you’re all in the same spot.

Hide what I watched on Netflix

If you’ve seen something that you’re embarrassed about or don’t want others to know, you can hide it.

All you need to do is access Accountselect the account in question and click view in View Activity.

Then you can hide whatever you like from the list.

Test new features first

If you like catching new features first, you can become a tester for Netflix.

All you have to do is visit net Netflix.com/DoNotTest and make sure it’s turned on.

You won’t notice anything basic right away, but next time they’re trying something, it might show up on your account first.
