NAVI Releases GeneRaL Before Next Dota Pro Circuit Tour
Natus Vincere was among the teams making changes to Dota 2 lull list ahead of next tour of 2022 Dota Pro Circuit begins, releasing Victor “GeneRaL” Nigrini… again.
The decision came after the team finished fifth in the Eastern European regional tournament for the DPC’s Winter Tour. They looked superior to the other big names in the area in this event. And, while they avoided relegation lower, management clearly saw the need to fix things after missing the Regional Finals.
The team captain and veteran CIS Solo also noted that their low placement was a setback for the team as every player has high ambitions. This led to discussions of a change, with GeneRaL being the most obvious move. He and Solo have “completely different views on the game,” according to the team, which leads to communication conflicts. This becomes especially evident in online events.
“Everybody was doing their best, but we had a conflict of opinions and it sucked that you couldn’t see each other’s eyes,” Solo speak. “There has to be a concept of the game. We will do this now. “
In the announcement, NAVI noted that with the release of GeneRaL, the team is looking at multiple options to fill the void ahead of the second leg of the 2022 DPC season. Solo admits finding a new NAVI offlaner is tough because they need to account for greedy playstyles in its core pairing, No[o]ne- and V-Tune. He also confirmed none of the remaining four players plan to leave Dota 2 lined up.
And, while no other players have left the team, coach Ivan “ArtStyle” Antonov will move into a new role in NAVI. This will help Solo “become the unanimous leader”, taking over parts of ArtStyle’s old role.
