Mystery as Briton, 82, found dead in a landfill after disappearing from a Spanish hotel

POLICE are investigating the death of a Brit whose body was found in a rubbish tip in Spain.
Denis Walker’s daughter Joanne has demanded information on his whereabouts after he went missing on March 24.
The Civil Guard confirmed today that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the 82-year-old after the discovery of his body at the front in Arboleas, in the south-eastern province of Almeria.
Local reports said investigators did not believe his death had been natural, but there is nothing at this time to suggest Mr Walker was a crime victim.
The results of an autopsy are unlikely to be released immediately.
Mr Walker’s daughter had revealed in a previous Facebook post that her father, who disappeared from La Parilla Hotel in Albox, which borders Arboleas, was suffering from dementia.

Confirming the discovery of his body, she said in a thank you message to the people who helped find him: “Thank you for your love and help in trying to find my father.”
A spokesman for the Civil Guard in Almeria said: “I can confirm that the body of a Briton who was reported missing last month was found in the municipality of Arboleas on Monday afternoon.
“The investigation into the circumstances of his death is ongoing.”
