The 26-year-old had hoped to visit the French theme park with daughters Daisy and Delilah and brother Matthew to see what would be her last vacation.

But sadly, her condition worsened and Sophie passed away on January 19, two weeks before they were to travel.

Matthew has contacted booking agent Hays Travel in Maidstone, Kent, to try to get refunds from Disney and Eurostar after spending more than £4,000 on the trip.

He was given just under £3,500 back for park tickets and accommodation – but Eurostar refused to refund the £700 it spent on train tickets.

Matthew, 30, from Barming, told KentOnline: “Disney and Eurostar have infuriated me.

“We booked the package with Disney, and I didn’t want to be taken advantage of.

“We’ve been told we can move the date or ask for a refund, but I don’t think we’ll want to move the date.”

The family had planned to go from February 1 to 5, but Sophie’s funeral is scheduled for February 2.

Thankfully, Hays Travel was “very helpful” and understood that the trip, funded by donations, was on Sophie’s need list so worked hard to get Matthew a refund .

He said: “This holiday means the world to my sister and because of the money raised she was able to get that opportunity to do it without compromise.

“They were very understanding when we had to cancel. They were still very kind.”

However, he said he was very disappointed with Disney and Eurostar.

A Eurostar spokesperson explained that refunds are not possible as tickets were purchased in bundles through Disney and the company has yet to receive the funds.

They added: “We are deeply sorry for the way this has been handled and the family has been denied a refund.

“The trip was booked through a third party, rather than with us directly.

“In this situation, the refund should come directly from the company the customer booked with because that’s who the payment was originally made with.

“This should have been clearly explained to the family and we deeply regret the stress this has caused them.”

The Sun has reached out to Disney for comment.

‘Owned by a Mother’

Single mom Sophie first noticed a bulge on her towel in September 2020.

Her doctor dismissed it as a blocked milk duct and advised her to flush it with warm water.

But as the tumor grew, Sophie insisted on a second opinion and was referred to a breast specialist.

She was eventually diagnosed with stage three negative breast cancer, considered the most severe form of the disease.

In January 2021, Sophie’s left breast was removed. Subsequent biopsies found that at least 14 nearby lymph nodes were also cancerous.

She underwent the first week of chemotherapy before giving birth to daughter Delilah in April, but a tumor was later found in her collarbone.

Sophie, who previously worked as a housekeeper at Travelodge, was later told that her cancer was incurable and terminal.

Daughters Daisy, 3, and Delilah, 8 months, are being cared for by their stepfathers.

Matthew said: “Our hearts are broken for Sophie’s girls.

“They’ve been robbed of a mummy who would do anything for them. But they should be proud of her.”
