West, a “full-time vanlifer”, according to her TikTok profile @wildwitchofthew3stwas snorkeling in Florida in late January when the attack happened.

She was visiting Dry Tortugas National Park with a group of other tourists when they decided to go swimming.

West claimed the group was in the water not far away. They were swimming in a single line of records, of which she was the last, when she felt a “bad vibe”.

“I had this really bad vibe and something in me said, ‘Get out.'”

West was just about to leave the water when she felt something grab her leg.

“We sat there for seemingly a while. The shark didn’t move, I didn’t move.

“I thought, ‘Wow, this is a bit awkward. How long are you going to keep me?’

“And just when I thought that, he ripped me off and ripped me off under the water.

“Whenever he starts jerking… I’m immediately like, ‘Oh, this is a shark.'”

“No, it’s mine, you can’t have it,” she remember think in attack.

When the shark took hold of her leg a second time, West said she “shrank back”, adding that she shouted obscenities at the animal.

That’s when she started punching the shark until it let go, which was how she was finally able to save her foot.

After punching the shark to death and calling for help, Mr. Tay was brought back to shore.

She remembers looking down and seeing her feet still attached to her body and saying “I won!” more and more.

Meanwhile, those who came to her aid asked if she had seen her foot and the wound she suffered.

She responded by saying, “Yeah, it’s still there.”

West was flown to Key West, where she received medical treatment. In the weeks that followed, she struggled with getting proper medical care due to insurance and other problems.

Her series of videos have been viewed by millions of TikTok users.

One TikTok user commented on a video, asking West about coming back from the underwater attack, writing: “Are you going to continue swimming and adventuring in the water? I know never step foot in the water? it too, that’s scary!” “

“Absolutely right!! I’ll have different ground rules to get comfortable but I’ll definitely be back!!” West wrote back.

West’s ordeal came when a fatal shark attack was reported in Sydney, Australia.
