MrBeast’s YouTube record shattered by Will Smith’s Chris rock slap moment

MrBeast’s record for the most views of a YouTube video in a single day was toppled by a clip of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
On March 27, 2022, the world was in awe after actor Will Smith took the stage at the 94th Academy Awards to punch comedian Chris Rock in the face.
The argument appeared to have been sparked after Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, specifically comparing her look for the evening to that of film heroine GI Jane.
Uncensored audio from the incident shows Will Smith yelling at Chris Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out of your friggin’ mouth” after he returns to his seat.
The slap instantly went mega-viral online, taking over social media and spawning hundreds of memes in the process.
While the whole ordeal came as a complete surprise at such a prestigious event, no one expected Smith’s viral slap in the face to topple a major YouTube record.
In November 2021, YouTube star Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson broke records on the site by garnering the most views for a non-music or trailer video in a 24-hour period.
MrBeast’s Squid Game became his most viewed video with over 176 million views.

The video in question was his much-anticipated rendition of Netflix’s Squid Game, which garnered a staggering 42.6 million views in just one day after it was uploaded.
That’s not all; It was also the fastest non-music video of all time, reaching 100 million views and breaking the record in four days.
As a result of his viral project, MrBeast also broke another record for most subscribers gained in a day, gaining over 1.4 million subscribers in 24 hours.

However, it looks like one of MrBeast’s records has now effectively been overturned as a result of Will Smith’s slap in the face at the 2022 Oscars. A clip of the altercation posted by The Guardian has now garnered over 48 million views after being posted 16 hours ago.
The Guardian’s video of the moment Will Smith slaps Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards is trending on YouTube right now.
MrBeast has yet to respond to this shift in the ranks, but overall his YouTube records are still climbing; In fact, he’ll overtake YouTube king Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg if his current subscriber count keeps growing.
