A motorcyclist was killed in Queens after running a red light and colliding with another vehicle, police said.
Francisco Santiago, 31, of Williamsburg, was fatally injured after being “ejected” from the motorcycle during the collision, police officers said.
The deadly episode happened on Atlantic Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard in Richmond Hill around 7:40 a.m. Saturday, police officers said.
Santiago was traveling west on Atlantic Avenue when he “ignored a red light and hit a northbound vehicle” on Lefferts Boulevard, the NYPD said. The doomed victim – who was wearing a helmet – suffered “multiple body trauma,” authorities said. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police officers said.
The 30-year-old driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene and no crime is suspected, an NYPD spokeswoman said. No other people were injured, police said.
