DENVER (KDVR) – A mother and daughter from Kansas City are grappling with a new reality of temporarily living in Denver.

“I told her you have to keep fighting. You have to work the hardest, just get through it,” Brandi said. “Keep going. Something good will come out of this.”

Brandi said N’Dea was paralyzed from the neck down due to a bullet lodged in the neck. As her sole caregiver, Brandi is balancing her life between Kansas City and Denver while searching for a disability-appropriate home and truck.

“I wanted people to know that I was going to get better and we were going home,” N’Dea said.
