CHILLING video released by the NYPD shows a suspect donning latex gloves before allegedly hitting a woman he was trying to force himself on, police said.
The 43-year-old victim was seriously injured after the brutal beating. She was repeatedly stopped in the head when the man attempted to rape her between two parked cars.
The gloves were likely used to avoid leaving fingerprints at the scene, authorities believe.
The attack happened Friday night on West 123rd Street between Leonx Avenue and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard, police said.
“He was walking right behind her when you see him putting on the gloves in the video,” a police source said New York Post. “He threw himself on her right after that.”
After grabbing the woman, the suspect kicked her repeatedly before stripping her to sexually assault her. However, the suspect fled before completing the rape.
The woman suffered severe head trauma and was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. She is listed in critical condition.
The police suspect a possible attempted murder. The suspect is described as a male in his forties, 5ft 8 tall, with a dark complexion and a stocky build.
He was last seen wearing a dark green baseball cap, black face mask, white hoodie with red lettering across the front, black pants, heeled shoes and blue latex gloves, police said.
