Josh Donaldson hits the most home runs (+20000)
When the Yankees switched for Josh Donaldson, the move was met with more confusion than excitement, but there’s a chance the veteran third baseman could turn out to be a prolific player in pinstripes this season. How productive? Let’s take a look.
While Donaldson’s back-of-the-card stats weren’t great last season with the Twins, he was all over the Statcast leaderboard. Donaldson ranked third in barrels per plate occurrence, fourth in average exit velocity, 24th in expected slugging percentage, and 11th in hard hit rate. Add in the fact that he’ll be batting in a lineup with Joey Gallo, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton and you could see a path to some big numbers for Donaldson in his first season in the Bronx.
Betting on the 2022 MLB season?
Donaldson’s age may be a concern, but he has played 155 games in 2019 and 135 games in 2021. So his injury history shouldn’t stop you from considering this bet at these high odds.
Donaldson, who has surpassed the 40-homer plateau only once in his career, is extremely unlikely to lead the league on home runs (that’s why he’s 200/1), but his batting records make you wonder if he’s pulling a stunner can on this market.
