Missing Texas mom Christina Powell was last seen rushing to work

A Texas mother-of-two has been missing for over a week – and she was last seen rushing from her home to work, where she never showed up, according to a report.

Christina “Chrissy” Lee Powell, 39, disappeared after leaving her home in San Antonio just after 10:30 a.m. on July 5, family members and officials told Fox News.

Doorbell security footage obtained by the outlet shows Powell was wearing dark pants and a long-sleeved shirt at the time as she sped out of the house on her way to her job as a paralegal.

“She left in a hurry,” Powell’s mother, Claudia Mobley, who lives with her daughter, told Fox News.

Powell said she was late for work and left her phone and Apple Watch behind.

Powell drove away from home in her black 2020 Nissan Rogue, license plate PYJ 8564, relatives and officials said.

Before she left, she called her office to let them know she would be later that day. But hours later, a co-worker showed up at her front door to check on Powell after she never showed up.

Powell’s 12-year-old son answered the door, Mobley said.

“My grandson opened the door and the lady said, ‘Is your mom here?'” Mobley told Fox News on Wednesday. “He said, ‘No, she’s at work’ … He went and checked, and of course she wasn’t here.”

The blonde, blue-eyed mother, who also has a 3-year-old, said nothing outrageous to her mother before leaving.

“We didn’t really have an in-depth conversation. It was basically “Good morning”. She told me she was going to be late,” Mobley said. “Then she went to work and I told her to be careful. And I probably told her, ‘I love you.'”

She said nothing seemed unusual.

“I felt like she was going, I felt like she was going to work — and I felt like she was going to work.”

The next day, Mobley reported Powell to the San Antonio Police Department as missing. An officer was dispatched to the home to ask questions, but Mobley said it took two or three days for her daughter to be officially listed as “missing.”

A police flyer obtained by Fox lists Powell as 5 feet 2 inches tall, 120 pounds, and right-handed with shoulder-length hair.

Powell has an illness that requires medication that she does not have with her.

No money has been withdrawn from her bank account since she left. The family could not determine if credit card account activity took place, Mobley said.

Lauren Leal, a longtime friend of the missing mother, told Fox that Powell had not raised any concerns about her safety or wellbeing. Nothing seemed “out of the way” that morning, other than that she was in a hurry that morning.

“I don’t think she would ever want her kids to go through what they’re going through,” Leal said.

The San Antonio Police Department has asked anyone with information about Powell’s whereabouts to call the Missing Persons Department at 210-207-7660. Missing Texas mom Christina Powell was last seen rushing to work
