Michigan’s Tirany Savage, three relatives dead after being denied her husband’s protective order

A Michigan woman and three relatives died in an apparent triple homicide-suicide after she was denied a protective order for her husband – who was among the dead, according to police and a news report.

Tirany Savage, 35, her 13-year-old son Dayton Cowdrey, her mother Kim Lynnette Ebright, 58, and Bo Eugene Savage, 35, were all found dead in a home with gunshot wounds to the head before dawn on Sunday, authorities said.

“All individuals involved had known relationships and the incident is being investigated as a homicide/suicide,” the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release Monday.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the many friends and family members who have been devastated by this loss.”

It was not confirmed who the shooter was, but weeks before the tragic turn of events, Tirany Savage filed for a personal protection order from husband Bo Eugene, according to TV station WPBM. However, this was rejected by a judge.

She also reportedly started the divorce process from him.

Tirany Savage said in the protective order that her husband, Bo Eugene Savage (right), has mental health issues and recently bought a firearm.

Tirany Savage filed for the personal protection order against her husband on June 24, writing, “He has mental health issues and recently bought a firearm and that worries me,” WPBM reported, citing court documents.

“He keeps saying he’s going to blow his brains out and I don’t want my safety or my son’s to be compromised.”

But that offer was turned down by a judge, who wrote she could seek a restraining order in a divorce court, the outlet reported.

“Insufficient evidence of the occurrence of immediate and irreparable injury, loss or damage. The applicant can apply for a restraining order in the divorce case,” the judge wrote, according to WPBM.

Tirany Savage could have requested a hearing because she was denied, but it’s unclear if she made that request, WPBM said, citing court documents.

She filed for divorce three days before her violent death, WPBM reported.

The judge, who NBC News says is Troy Daniel, did not respond to a request for comment when the news outlet contacted his campaign Wednesday night.
