Michigan prosecutor charges 7 minors with school threats | WJMN

DETROIT (AP) – A Detroit-area prosecutor has charged seven minors in separate recent cases with making threats to schools or having weapons on them.

Fees, issued on Thursdays and Fridays, are subject to school shooting at Oxford High School earlier this week, killing four students, injuring six others and injuring a teacher.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a news release. “Threats in schools naturally make everyone competitive.

Those charged include a 14-year-old male student at Parcells Middle School in Grosse Pointe Woods, who is charged with making a false report or making a terroristic threat. In addition, a 13-year-old male student at Fisher Magnet Upper Academy in Detroit was charged with possession of a weapon in a school firearms-free zone. He has been awarded a $5,000 cash bond with a 10% discount and will appear in court on December 13.

“Thankfully, these problems were all contained and no one was harmed,” Worthy said.
