Police arrested one of the two suspects in connection with the kidnapping of a mother and her 1-year-old son outside a destination in Memphis, Tennessee.
Will Hayes, 25, was charged Tuesday with two counts of aggravated robbery, two particularly aggravated kidnappings and the use of a firearm while committing a dangerous crime.
Hayes and another male suspect, who has yet to be identified and remains at large, forced the mother and child into their gold Chevrolet Malibu on Aug. 31.
The couple ordered the woman to drive to a nearby Regions Bank to withdraw $800 from the ATM on Block 7700 of Highway 64
According to WREG-TV, the mother had to sit in the front seat next to a suspect who was in the front passenger seat while the other suspect was in the back seat with the child. She returned to the store after Hayes and the other suspect left with the cash.
When the mother was dropped back off at the store, she immediately called for help.
Just before 10 a.m. Tuesday, Memphis police spotted a gold vehicle that matched the description of the car seen on surveillance footage.
Officers pulled the car without a license plate for a traffic stop and Hayes was taken into custody.
According to Action News 5, Hayes has already been arrested for theft, vandalism and credit card fraud.
