Matthew Wolfenden looks suggesting Emmerdale take a longer break in the middle of the race
Emmerdale fans have speculated that Matthew Wolfenden will take a longer break than expected because of his new look.
Actor David Metcalfe showed off his new close shave, which he also bleached blonde, on Instagram.
It’s a big change from David’s longer locks, with fans wondering if that means he’ll be away from the soap for a while.
In general, actors are encouraged not to change their hair for the sake of continuity.
It was recently revealed that Matthew and his co-star Isabel Hodgins was absent from filming on an alleged row on set.
According to reports, a multiracial actress was upset after her voice was ‘mock’, with a comment made backstage at the time.
Sun reported that a complaint was made about an inappropriate comment.
It is also alleged he got into an argument with co-star Aaron Anthony (Ellis Chapman) over the incident – with Victoria Sugden star Isabel also leaving the set while investigations continue.
“This all happened after a conversation between them and another actress – in which the alleged comment was made,” an insider told the publication. ‘An allegation was also made that the actress’s voice was imitated.
‘We have been informed that Aaron talked about this with Matthew later and there was a tense conversation between them. Matthew and Isabel stopped filming after that.
‘Emotions have been running high since then but nobody knows what to believe.’
A representative for soap told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘While we will never comment on individual cases, Emmerdale has strong policies in place to deal with any allegations that come to our attention and take steps suitable.’
Matthew and Isabel are said to ‘unequivocally deny all allegations’ but have yet to address the reports publicly.
Matthew joined the soap as David in 2006.
