Is there a Mauraders release date?

Unfortunately, there’s no Marauders release date yet, and it doesn’t appear that a full launch is on the horizon anytime soon. Small Impact Games aims to continue building the title with a small pool of players before opening the spaceship doors to the rest of the world.

However, according to the official Fig crowdfunding side, an alpha and beta test are planned for the coming months. This will likely allow even more players to get hands-on time with the game while providing valuable feedback to the developers.

Marauders trailer

Despite being in Early Access for almost two years, Marauders didn’t receive a formal announcement trailer until March 2022. For just under 90 seconds, he didn’t reveal too much about the game, but interested gamers were able to catch a glimpse of the industry sci-fi setting and FPS gunplay.

Check out the full announcement trailer below:

Platforms of the Marauders

At the time of writing, these are the only platforms Marauders is confirmed for Steam and PC Game Pass. So far, no console version has been announced, but a developer has confirmed this in one interview with The Loadout that a PS5 or Xbox series release has not been ruled out.

The same developer, Cameron Small, also mentioned that crossplay is unlikely due to the different experience of players on console and PC.

Marauder Attitude

Sci-fi settings are nothing new in video games, but Marauders seems to have found a new twist when it comes to its lore. In this universe the year is 1990 and the Great War (WWI) never ended.

After the earth was devastated by decades of war, many people fled into the cosmos. That’s why the weapons on offer in Marauders feel very familiar, despite the otherworldly setting.

We don’t know much more than that at the moment, but more insights are sure to be released with every new trailer and playtest.

Marauder gameplay

In terms of gameplay, Marauders seems to take inspiration from it Escape from Tarkov. Players take control of a daredevil space pirate who raids various planets for valuable loot.

The goal is to outwit both AI enemies and other players to escape the battlefield with your rewards in hand. However, death means the loot will most likely be lost to an opposing team.

Combat takes place from a first-person perspective, forcing the player to think tactically while attempting to gain the upper hand. The twist in Marauders is that players can also freely navigate the stars in ships that can be bought, sold, and upgraded.

There you have it! That’s all we know about Marauders so far. More information is expected to be released in the coming months, so keep checking back for the latest updates.
